This figure represents the total economic impact of craft-brewed beer as it moves through the three-tier system (breweries, wholesalers, and retailers). It also includes the substantial contributions of non-beer products sold at brewpubs and taprooms, such as food and merchandise.
Job Creation and Economic Growth:
- The industry supported nearly 460,000 total jobs.
- Almost 190,000 of these jobs were directly at breweries and brewpubs, including serving staff.
State-Level Impact:
The Brewers Association conducted a comprehensive analysis, examining the output of the craft beer industry on a state-by-state basis. This analysis also included the state's economic contribution per capita for adults over 21.
